Year 5

Welcome to Year 5

In Year Five, we love to learn. We have fantastic topics and we enjoy lots of exciting tasks based upon them. Our History focussed topics are the ancient Egyptians and the Vikings. In Spring, we will journey around the continent of Europe for our Geography based learning. We show resilience in our Maths work and, as a result, solve fluency and reasoning problems. Our writing is based on both narrative and non- narrative pieces and we enjoy crafting our writing for it to be the best it can be. We always aim for quality pieces of work.

It is important to us that we enjoy our time at school, Year Five staff strive to have a happy ethos and ensure that your children displays happiness whilst in our care. We ask that you encourage, and work with, your children to read a minimum of three times a week at home. We also ask that you support children with learning their spellings and completing projects from our homework menu. Children can access Reading Plus and TT Rockstars at home; this will further complement their learning.

We look forward to creating happy memories with your children.
