Rising Stars
Rising Stars Mathematics is a primary mathematics programme developed specifically for the New National Curriculum Programmes of Study. It is designed to develop fluency and build on conceptual learning through a problem solving approach. Mathematical understanding is developed through using practical equipment, pictorial and eventually abstract representations.
At all stages teachers encourage investigative thinking, questioning, discussion and application. It is the aim that children will be taught concepts in very small steps in order to give them time to embed their understanding. To achieve Mastery it is our belief that it is important to spend more time teaching fewer topics in depth than moving on to new learning too quickly.
